(The) example (of) those who disbelieve in their Lord, their deeds (are) like ashes blows furiously on it the wind in a day stormy. No control (they have) of what they have earned on anything. That, [it] (is) the straying far.
View 80 More Translations ↓[This, then, is] the parable of those who are bent on denying their Sustainer: all their works are as ashes which the wind blows about fiercely on a stormy day: [in the life to come,] they cannot achieve any benefit whatever from all [the good] that they may have wrought: for this [denial of God] is indeed the farthest one can go astray
The likeness of those who disbelieve in their Lord: their works are as ashes, whereon the wind blows strong upon a tempestuous day; they have no power over that they have earned - that is the far error
The parable of those who reject their Lord is that their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a tempestuous day: No power have they over aught that they have earned: that is the straying far, far (from the goal)
مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمۡۖ أَعۡمَـٰلُهُمۡ كَرَمَادٍ ٱشۡتَدَّتۡ بِهِ ٱلرِّیحُ فِی یَوۡمٍ عَاصِفࣲۖ لَّا یَقۡدِرُونَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰ شَیۡءࣲۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلضَّلَـٰلُ ٱلۡبَعِیدُ ١٨
mathalu alladhīna kafarū birabbihim aʿmāluhum karamādin ish'taddat bihi l-rīḥu fī yawmin ʿāṣifin lā yaqdirūna mimmā kasabū ʿalā shayin dhālika huwa l-ḍalālu l-baʿīd
